In each of the past 2 years, medical residents reported in Medscape surveys that their compensation had risen by more than 4%. Progress, right? Well, those 2 years came on the heels of 7 lean years for raises. So, 69% of residents said they feel undercompensated, meaning they're not yet willing to call it progress.
