Average compensation rose by anywhere from 7% to 18% for advanced practice registered nurses (APRNs) in 2023, depending on the APRN category. That could help explain why 55% of APRNs in a Medscape survey said their pay was adequate relative to their workload. Compensation varied depending on experience level and whether an APRN worked on a salaried or hourly basis.
